University Cancer & Blood Center (UCBC), a leading oncology and hematology practice for Northeast Georgia, welcomes Dr. Jonathan Hsu, a board-certified family medicine and hospice and palliative physician. Patients in need of hospice care can choose UCBC with confidence.

Dr. Hsu is now seeing patients at UCBC’s Athens-Clarke County Radiation Medical Oncology Clinic (3320 Old Jefferson Road, Suite 700, Athens) and Covington-Newton County locations (4159 Mill St., Covington). His hospice and palliative-related services include providing support to patients and their families as they face the many challenges that occur when living with a serious illness.

“It is our pleasure to welcome Dr. Hsu to UCBC and to offer his expertise to the communities we serve,” says Dr. Petros Nikolinakos, managing partner. “With Dr. Hsu’s commitment to providing compassionate care and excellence to his patients, we are confident he will bring a valuable perspective to our practice.”

Dr. Hsu earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He completed a residency program in family medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. While in his family medicine residency, he was designated as chief resident.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Hsu was an assistant professor at the Medical College of Georgia and a clinical assistant professor at Augusta University. He is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

“I understand the privilege and honor that comes with providing care to a vulnerable population,” says Dr. Hsu. “It’s an honor to be a part of a practice that offers high-quality care and supports patients through their suffering to improve their quality of life.”
