Paige Campbell, EdD, LCSW, OSW-C
Paige Campbell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a certification as an oncology social worker. Prior to beginning work as an oncology social worker in 2007, Paige earned degrees in Humanities and Childhood Education and spent sixteen years in the field of education. In addition to her work in oncology, Paige has held several positions in medical social work, including work in hospice, lung transplant, and acute care hospital settings. Having joined University Cancer & Blood Center in 2010, Paige has grown the Oncology Social Work program to include mental health counseling, risk assessment counseling, patient navigation, crisis intervention, and case management services, among others, for patients and families. She applied for and received NCI-funded training in cognitive-behavioral therapy in the oncology setting and oncology social work leadership. Additionally, Paige regularly hosts Bachelors and Masters level social work interns from The University of Georgia.
Koren Raymond, MSW, LMSW
Koren Raymond is an oncology social worker at University Cancer & Blood Center. She earned her master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Georgia’s School of Social Work. Before joining UCBC, Koren worked in hospice care, a domestic abuse shelter, as a court-appointed special advocate, and as a counselor at Camp Magik, a Georgia program that provides a safe and nurturing environment for bereaved children and their families. Koren also holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Piedmont College in Demorest, GA, and is a current member of the National Association of Social Work and the Association of Oncology Social Work. Koren has also completed the From Cancer To Health intervention training at Ohio State University as well as the Children’s Treehouse Foundation’s C.L.I.M.B. training.
Bela Amaral, LMSW
Bela Amaral is an oncology social worker at University Cancer & Blood Center. She earned her master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Georgia’s School of Social Work, and was a member of Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society. She is fluent in Portuguese, advanced in Spanish, and previously worked as a medical social worker at Compassionate Care Hospice in Athens. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Gainesville State College (Athens) and a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations from Centro Universitario de Belo Horizonte, UNI-BH / Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil. She has been accepted to receive NCI-funded training in Implementing Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Screening in the oncology setting. She is a member of the NASW and the AOSW.
